The Trading Fair 2027
The Trading Fair 2027 takes place on 6 April 2027 at Volkshotel. We bring together market makers, proprietary trading firms, exchanges and commodity traders for one day: a main hall with the career fair, keynotes and the trader panel, and company rooms with sessions and workshops hosted by the firms themselves.
Doors open at 08:30, the opening session starts at 09:00 and the day closes at 17:30. Networking drinks follow from 17:30 to 19:00 for a limited group; you sign up for those separately on the program page.
Attendance is by application and selection. Everyone who attends has applied for general access first; company sessions are decided by the companies, based on the CV on file. Please plan to be there from the opening until the closing session and at every session you are selected for. Places are limited and costs are covered for you, so a place you do not use is a place someone else could have had.
Catering is covered for everyone during the day: coffee, tea and water, sweet snacks, lunch and savoury snacks. At the networking drinks, additional drinks and snacks are provided.
Application Process
Apply to attend
From 6 January 2027 you apply on this site with your Amsterdam Investment Club account: your CV, university, expected graduation, GPA and LinkedIn. That is your application for general access. We select attendees before the Fair and email you the outcome.
Pick your sessions on the program
Once your application is in, the program page opens up: apply to the company sessions and workshops you want. You can apply to more than one session in the same slot, since not everyone is selected.
Selection by the companies
Each company sees the CVs of the students who applied to its session and decides who joins. Places are limited. You will hear either way, and you can follow every application in My agenda.
Your day in My agenda
Your applications, the outcomes and the fixed programme all sit in My agenda. Selected for two sessions at the same time? You choose which one to keep; the other place goes to someone on the waiting list.
The day itself
Check-in is by name at the entrance from 08:30. Networking drinks from 17:30 to 19:00 are a separate sign-up on the program page with a waiting list once full.

This event is primarily aimed at students from STEM backgrounds (e.g. mathematics, engineering, computer science, physics, econometrics).
That said, highly motivated non-STEM students with a strong interest in quantitative finance, trading, or data-driven decision-making are also encouraged to apply.

This event is totally beginner-friendly and suitable for students with little or no prior finance background.

The event is free of charge. However, if you cannot make it to the company you get selected without prior notice, a penalty fee will apply. See our cancellation policy. This helps ensure fairness and respect for our partner companies and also for costs covered for you to attend the event.
There is no specific dress code, but look presentable, and please come in business casual.
